How to disable Android system updates?

Hello,

I've had several Android phones and I've realized that updating isn't always a good thing. I'm talking specifically about Android system updates.

The problem is as follows. When I refuse to update, it asks me again either in 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours.

I would like to NEVER do it; I want to stay on the system I currently have, which works perfectly.

If you have a solution, I’m interested. I have an alternative, but every time I restart the phone, I have to redo the process and I would really like to avoid that.

For your information, my mobile phone is an HTC One with Android 4.1.3 installed, and I DO NOT WANT to upgrade to 4.2.2; I’ve heard too many bad reviews about that system on HTC devices.

Hello
On the Android system, there are 2 steps to take. So to permanently disable updates, you need to:
  • Settings / About phone / Software update / UNCHECK auto update.
  • Then, this is where you can permanently disable updates by going to: settings / application manager / you go to the "ALL" section and click on software update .... and there you click on disable

You can be sure that I have already gone through all the apps installed on the phone. I didn't find anything related to "Software Update," otherwise I would have already disabled it.

As for "unchecking auto-update," it doesn't prevent it from regularly checking at startup of the phone. The problem remains unsolved.

This might be useful for Samsung S3, but not for HTC One.
