CHKDSK not working - nothing happens Solved

Question

Hello,    Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 36.0.1985.143  Everything or almost is in the title. My main drive C: has been recognized as damaged when I run the check with chkntfs and apparently for this reason I cannot defragment this drive because "the integrity bit is set" or something like that.  The problem is that I can't run a check on drive C: I tried going through --> Computer --> Right Click on drive C: --> Properties --> Tools --> Error-checking (I check both boxes), it tells me that it is scheduled for the next restart, then when I restart.. nothing.  Then, I tried with the command prompt but the same thing. I type chkdsk /f (or /f /r) and confirm for it to run at the next restart but still nothing.  I have done multiple scans with multiple antimalware or antivirus (which allowed me to remove a few things in the process by the way xD) but still nothing.  I'm out of ideas and I have looked at dozens of forums but I still haven't found a solution. So if someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated :)  Thanks.  PS: sorry for the wall of text but I don't know why my line breaks aren't being taken into account...

Hello  in a command prompt, type: sfc /scannow  once the scan is finished, restart the PC. and try the chkdsk again ........  -- "To fix something that doesn't work or makes too much noise, it is enough to hit it with something that works better or makes more noise" The Shadoks

then

 CHKSDK C: /f /r

etc. (any options you want)

Hello, since the startup scan scheduling doesn't seem to be working. Go through the Windows 7 installation DVD console by following this tutorial.  -- In computing, there is always a solution.

I'm not sure I understood the first message. The DOS command, in Windows 7, is cmd.exe, right? If it's for me to do it as an administrator, that was already the case.
Edit: Actually, I hadn't read properly and I noticed that you didn't enter the same command as I did, so I did it and it says "it is impossible to lock the current drive."

Otherwise, I ran sfc /scannow, it told me that there were corrupted files and that it couldn't repair some of them.
I restarted and still nothing :)

In fact, by using the installation DVD, you can run the command "CHKSDK C: /f /r" (as an administrator) without having to restart. Since Windows will not be running, this command will work without needing to reboot.

So!

I followed the tutorial. I booted from the W7 CD. Everything goes normally until I open the command prompt.

The first difference is that I don't end up at the root D:\> but at X:\sources>
I remove "sources" by going back to the root with "cd\", which gives me X:\>

I then type X:\>chkdsk /r

And then it tells me that it's impossible because the drive is write-protected..

What does that mean?

In the tutorial, it says that you must first type "d:" to change partitions and go to the Windows 7 partition.

So in summary, in this command prompt, you type these commands:
d:
cd \
chkdsk /r

It may ask you if it should unmount the disk, answer yes.

So really a big thank you, it worked!

I had to fight a bit haha. Because actually my problem wasn't related to the Windows startup as in the tutorial, so it wasn't the D: drive that needed to be dismantled and checked but C:
So I did that, it erased and repaired quite a few things and now the drive is finally recognized as healthy and is back in the defragmentation list!

Thanks again and just one last question. At the beginning of the topic, I said I had used the command sfc /scannow and that the result was that some files were corrupted and that not all could be repaired. Unfortunately, even after all this when I run this command it's still the same result, but it seems to be less of a drawback. Does this have any consequences?
