LNB Short Circuit

Question

Hello,

We just bought a TV for our daughter, as well as a Fransat decoder model Strong SRT 7403.

The problem is that the TV displays: "LNB short circuit."

We have checked the cables, the connections, everything is correct.

We already have an old Fransat decoder for the kitchen TV that has been working very well for years. We tried replacing it with the new decoder, and the same message: "LNB short circuit" appears.

Where could the problem be coming from?

Hello, The LNB is the component opposite the hollow of the dish; it receives the waves reflected by it. Simply replacing it will eliminate the short circuit.

Hello,  Thank you for your response.  But in that case, how do you explain that the kitchen TV works?? And not the new TV in our daughter's room?

A short circuit can be caused by a faulty antenna connection: a single wire from the outer braid of the antenna cable in contact with the central wire of the same cable results in a short circuit.
Warning: connecting two satellite receivers to a single LNB via a splitter or coupler will cause a short circuit in the reception system.
To avoid this, it is necessary to replace the single LNB with a twin LNB (20/25 euros).
This model of LNB has two outputs that need to be connected via two continuous cables to each of the two decoders.
It should be noted that a single LNB is controlled by the decoder via the sending of an electric current of 13/18 volts.
Connecting a second decoder on the same cable of the single LNB means that both decoders send an electrical signal to the LNB.
This creates a short circuit and is unsuitable.
