Powerline adapter that overheats and shuts down

Hello everyone, and I’m going to tell the little story of my powerline adapter :(

At first, I had an old powerline adapter that worked very well, and my mother told me she would buy a better, more modern powerline adapter, so logically it should work better. Since then, the powerline adapter heats up and cuts off my computer's connection, which is very annoying in the middle of a game :(

So it would be really nice if someone knew where this problem comes from.
All I know is that when my connection drops, I unplug it and plug it back in, and everything works better, but each time I notice that it is burning hot.
