Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 5720ZG laptop that was working fine under Windows Vista. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Atheros AR5007EG wifi network card that operates through a utility under Windows Vista: Acer Enet Manager. However, this software is usually not necessary for the proper functioning of a wifi network card under Windows 8.1. Since I started using Windows 8.1, the wifi behaves erratically: sometimes it works... and sometimes it doesn't, so I have to uninstall the card driver each time via the Windows Device Manager and re-enter the password for my wifi connection for it to work more or less well. I tried installing a driver provided by the card manufacturer, but when the driver installs, I get a BSOD that says: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL.
How can I install a valid driver that doesn't crash my PC?
Thank you in advance for your responses!
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 36.0.1985.125

Hello,
Go to the Control Panel
Programs and Features
Uninstall Qualcomm Atheros AR5007EG, if present.
Go to Device Manager
Network Adapters
Right-click on Qualcomm Atheros AR5007EG
Uninstall it
Restart the PC.
Go back to Device Manager
If there's a question mark, provide the hardware ID number.
