Iphone iMessage marked as "delivered" and unread

Hello,

I wanted to know when I send messages .. it only says delivered but not read!
But when I look at the conversation with my buddy, it says "read" for him.
I have an iPhone 3GS.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 36.0.1985.125

Hi, the answer is very simple: your correspondent hasn't enabled the Read Receipt option in Settings / Messages.

and how can we know if that person has seen our message without them activating the read receipt option?

Re, we can't know if the recipient has not activated the Read Receipt option because precisely the recipient does not want their contacts to know when they read the SMS that we send them.

I know the post is dated.... but I'm trying anyway.

I have a contact for whom I do not receive the "read" notification EVEN THOUGH they have enabled read receipts on my contact card.
