Hello,
I have an iPhone 4s.
When friends send me texts via their iPhone 4s, my husband also receives them; in fact, he can follow the entire conversation! (He also has an iPhone 4s and we have the same iCloud or iTunes account—I’m really clueless about how all this works...) However, conversely, I don’t receive texts that are meant for him.
My daughter also has an iPhone 4s; the three of us are on the same account, but everything is working fine for her...
My husband does not receive his messages, and neither do I, nor vice versa.
My daughter thinks it’s my phone that has a problem.
Can you help me?
I know it’s not espionage, but I would like to be the only recipient of the messages sent to me.
For the surprise birthday, I had to pass everything through my daughter because so many people have an iPhone...

Hello, I can confirm Hugofer07's post, if the father's and mother's iPhones have the same identifier, it is normal for both iPhones to receive iMessages.
Between iPhones, SMS are automatically converted into iMessages, and the Apple account email address is used to send the message.
If the mother is not receiving the iMessages that the husband receives, it means that in the iMessage settings on the mother's iPhone, the receiving email address (which is the same as the husband's) is not checked.
Start by comparing the iPhones of the mother and daughter; I think the daughter has set up an email address specific to her in iMessage.
On the mother's iPhone, I think that by deleting the configured email addresses and entering her own email address (different from the father's) it should solve the problem (you can use an email address that is not necessarily the one from the Apple account).
