No receipt acknowledgment after sending MMS

Hello,
I sent a MMS to someone, it shows as "sent" but I never received a delivery receipt. I have tried several times but it’s always the same. I would rather not ask the person if they received it because we are not on good terms. Moreover, I can send MMS to other contacts just fine.
Is it possible that they received it anyway? A friend told me that you can block the delivery receipt, does that exist?

You can block the read receipt in an email.
In a text/SMS, you can't block anything... but in a text/SMS, there is also no read receipt. You only have a delivery report that merely indicates that the text/SMS has left your phone and has passed through your operator's network, which has managed to send it to the rival network.
In short, if the person has turned off their phone, they will not receive the text, but you will have the delivery report because the recipient's operator, with the phone turned off, has received the text.
