[Excel] manage direction arrows Solved

Question

Hello.
I work with Excel 2000 on Windows XP Pro.
Sometimes the arrow keys up-down-left-right are used to move from one cell to another, and sometimes they control the vertical and horizontal scrollbars.
I would like to know how to switch from one configuration to the other.

I've encountered this problem before; you need to do:  Alt Gr + Pause/Break  to switch back to grid movement mode. (see another post on this forum)

Hi,

These are not 2 different features but the same one:

When you move from one cell to another using the arrows, the cell where the cursor is going may not be displayed on the screen, so the scrollbar moves down to show the selected cell.

However, the mouse wheel is still more convenient!

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. No, that’s not what you described: I notice that sometimes, when I’m on a square that is not at the edge of the screen, the arrow keys allow me to move to an adjacent square and sometimes they make the horizontal and vertical scrollbars move.
I only notice this at work, on the setup I mentioned in my previous message. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have the same issue since I connected a wireless numeric keypad to my iMac. But I don't have the "alt gr" or "pause" keys, I only have "alt" :-( Do you have a solution for me?
