Thank you for all your stories that confirmed I was going to get scammed...
I wanted to sell shoes on Le Bon Coin and I got lots of offers; I was really happy but I still noticed that two emails were similar even though the names were different; I ended up closing the sale with a person who seemed decent and who had good spelling.
I received an email confirming that I had received the expected amount on PayPal and that in order for the transfer to go from my PayPal account to my bank account, I needed the tracking number of the package that had already been shipped. I thought it was fair that the money was held on PayPal until the buyer had proof that the package had indeed been sent, which I provided before requesting the transfer, but then I received several emails, both from the buyer and from PayPal customer service (supposedly), explaining that actually I needed to pay 450€ to unblock my account internationally because the buyer's PayPal account is in Switzerland...and that they would later transfer my 450€ plus the amount I was expecting;
I thought, what is this story and I immediately understood that I was dealing with a scam.
I checked my account and there were no pending transfers and additionally I had already received a transfer from family living in Canada, so I knew there was a lie somewhere.
I read your stories while waiting for the post office to reopen this afternoon and by chance the package was about to be sent; the postal worker who was collecting arrived just seconds after me.
I was able to retrieve my package and get a refund for my shipping costs.
So be careful of a buyer named VÉRONIQUE THIREL, THE PACKAGE IS TO AN ADDRESS IN CHELLES AND ALSO HER PAYPAL DETAILS (false of course).
