Hello,
I have a Sony TV connected via HDMI to a Canal+ decoder, and until 10 days ago, it was working well.
Ten days ago, my Canal+ decoder stopped working (probably due to the storm), so I exchanged it for another one, but since then I've had an issue with the sound cutting out for 1 second every 15 seconds on average. I changed the decoder again, but the problem persists (on all channels).

So, I tried different HDMI cables and the various HDMI ports on my TV, but that doesn't fix the problem.

Please note:
- My neighbors don't have any issues with TV reception (I live in an apartment building)
- The picture is good; only the sound is problematic
- I don't have this sound issue when playing on the PS3 on this TV
- It seems I only have this issue through HDMI; it seems to work normally with SCART.

Personally, I was thinking it might be a problem with the HDMI port of the decoder (even though it has been changed twice), or that the HDMI ports on my TV were damaged during the storm (but there's no problem with the PS3 via HDMI), or a reception issue (but my neighbors aren't experiencing this problem).

Thank you for your thoughts on this malfunction.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 29.0

Hello,

indeed, your malfunction is quite uncommon, have you tried plugging your decoder and television into another outlet? It's possible that your electrical network, if poorly protected, could have been damaged due to the storm and caused disturbances that you didn't have before.

In any case, it cannot be emphasized enough that in case of a storm, either you are protected, or you should unplug all electrical devices during the storm, including antenna cables and phones.

Keep us updated.

Otherwise, you always have the option of having a technician/TV installer come to analyze all your equipment, because if you continue to use damaged equipment unknowingly, you could end up permanently damaging what isn't damaged yet, for example, your PS3, your television may be damaged without you knowing...
