Hello,

Configuration: iPad / Safari 7.0
Do you know if it is possible to retrieve the IP address of the person who wrote a Word or OpenOffice document? And if so, how to do it?

Thank you.

    Hello,

Not at all, unless you’re on the same network as that person, in which case you’ll have their local IP (usually 192.168.x.x).

If you obtained this document via a USB key, email, or by traveling owl, it’s a lost cause!

While waiting for a response I found this site that says it's feasible, what do you think?

I received the file by email so I’ll find the sender’s IP address, that’ll be faster.
    Have a good day

The site doesn’t tell you that you can retrieve the IP of a Word document. It says you can retrieve the IP of an email or you can retrieve it if the user sends a request on your website.

For the mail file, the site explains it well, and it’s relatively reliable.

If you received the file by email then check the sources, you should have the IP address of the first router crossed.
