Is it possible to upgrade Android from 2.3.6 to 4.1?

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy mini S5570I, and I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade to the latest version of Android: 4.1, considering that I have an older version: 2.3.6. If it is possible, what should I do? Will it work if I flash my ROM? Thanks in advance.
