Hello,
I would like to upgrade Google Android 4.4.4 (Kitkat) to 5.1.1 (Lollipop) or 6.0
(Marshmallow)
Where can I find the Google Android link to update the system based on Linux?
Google Android 4.4.4 Kitkat is installed on a Sony Xperia E3 smartphone
customized by a French telecom operator.
Specifications
Kernel version is: 3.4.0 based on Ubuntu
Processor: Qualcomm MSM8926
Thank you in advance
Configuration: Operating systems:
- Linux: Debian 8, Gentoo 20150505, Fedora 22, Ubuntu 14.10

Hi,
5.1.1 (lollipop) or 6.0 (Marshmallow)
6.0? Back to the future...? It doesn't even exist yet. :-)
Next, you will need to know which device you have, because it's not Google that provides links to Android ROMs... each device is unique and may require specific drivers in the kernel associated with the ROM.
Therefore, Google sends ROMs to manufacturers, who modify them according to their practices and then publish and/or send them to carriers who add their own additional layer before the update.
So, you need to know what phone you have (whether it’s rooted or not, with a stock ROM) and possibly its origin (carrier ROM or manufacturer ROM).
Best regards,

Huh? An Android kernel based on Ubuntu? Are you kidding or…?
It has nothing to do with the kernel…
Anyway, for now the E3 is only announced under 4.4.4… nothing newer.
We'll have to wait to see if Sony decides to release 5.X for this model. ;-)
For now, the Z3 is just starting the rollout of 5.X… :-)
It's in preview (third version I believe) and only available for Nexus devices. However, it is still aimed at developers.
