An iPhone is a smartphone or a mobile phone if you prefer, with which you can go online, play games, and do a whole bunch of things through applications.
iPads and tablets are the same thing. An iPad is a tablet made by Apple. The main difference compared to an iPhone is the size of the device. A tablet is not a phone, but rather a "pocket" computer. However, the principle is the same when it comes to apps.
