Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum and excited to join you!
I'm trying to get familiar with the InDesign version I just bought, and I already have a question that's bothering me. Here it is:
The version I have is InDesign CS3.
I want to open a document I created a few weeks ago using a free 1-month trial version I downloaded online: InDesign CC. So, a more recent version than the one I have now.
And: I can't open that old document.
What should I do to be able to open a document that was created and saved with a more advanced version?
Thank you all for your insights!!
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 27.0

Unfortunately, we cannot...
It would have been necessary to take the precaution of saving your document in an interchange format between versions (*.idml)...
But for your CS3 version, there is still a problem because the interchange format is only compatible up to CS4. So to downgrade to CS3, it is necessary to save again in another interchange format (*.inx) from CS4...

Thank you for your response. Indeed, it seems a bit complicated in my case...
Too bad. I will settle for rebuilding everything with my current version.
Thanks again!
Best regards.

In your case, it's rather ... not simple. Since CC save in IDML (but from CC it won't be compatible with CS3) and from CS4 at worst open and resave in IDML
I empathize

Hello fetchiz
Thank you for your message... and your moral support.... lol
Indeed, faced with the difficulty of the task, I gave up on trying to recover the old documents and recreated everything from scratch. It wasn't an easy job, but at least it allowed me to get familiar with this version....
Thanks again for your help!!!
