Hello, I have a display issue with the Samsung BD-D8200 player; it remains stuck on "hello" on the display. I would like to have a technical solution as I don't have the warranty. Thank you for helping me. If you've had the same problem, I would like to know where the issue comes from, whether it's from the power supply or the motherboard, and which parts need to be replaced. Thank you.

On the BD-D8200 and BD-E8300, on the BD-D8200 there's no video on the SCART or HDMI output, the power indicator on the left is not lit, and the display is stuck on HELLO (which indicates that the internal software startup is not completed). On the BD-E8300, there are random startups and automatic resets with firmware 1017 or otherwise, or random shutdowns. Apparently, all these failures are caused by the touch keyboard on the front panel, which malfunctions, particularly the power on/off button, as if you are pressing it with your finger to simulate turning the device on or off. You simply need to disconnect the touch keyboard. To do this, unplug the 220 V power cord, remove the cover, and the ribbon connector is brown... it is located at the back of the display, roughly in the center, visible and accessible without further operations. It is connected to a vertical white connector, soldered to the printed circuit board. Using flat electronics pliers, gently pinch the tab and the ribbon and pull to the left (keyboard facing you) carefully, keeping your hand braced on the chassis to avoid pulling too hard and tearing the ribbon from the touch keyboard. You will close the cover, plug in your BD-D8200 or BD-E8300 back into 220 V and it should work again as well or better than before this repair. I believe particularly for the BD-E8300 that all these random lock-up failures, which are resolved by pressing the touch power button for 30 seconds, are caused by the touch keyboard. After this repair, the BD-E8200 and BD-D8200 will only be controlled by the remote, as I will not reinstall a new touch keyboard...
Happy repairs and don’t throw the BD out the window considering their price; they should last... 10 years not 18 months or 36 months...

    Happy repairs.

      More precisely:
On the BD-D8200 and BD-E8300, on the BD D8200 no video on the SCART or HDMI output, the left power indicator is not lit, and the display remains forever on HELLO (which indicates that the internal software startup is not performed). On the BD-E8300, erratic startup and automatic reset with firmware 1017 or others, or unexpected shutdowns; apparently, all these faults are caused by the sensitive keypad on the front panel, which malfunctions the power button as if you were pressing it with your finger to simulate turning the device on or off. You simply need to disconnect the sensitive keypad; to do this, unplug the 220 V power cord, remove the cover, the ribbon connector is brown ... it is located at the back of the display, roughly in the center, it is visible and accessible without any other operation, it is connected to a vertical white connector CN2, soldered onto the printed circuit board. This first action can be ignored: lift the black locking flap of the ribbon on CN2 with a small flat screwdriver and with flat electronic pliers delicately pinch the tab + the ribbon and pull to the left (keypad in front of you) slowly, with your hand resting on the chassis to avoid pulling too hard and tearing the ribbon from the touch keypad. You will close the cover, reconnect your gem (from the BD-D8200 or BD-E8300 series) to 220 V and in principle, it will work as well or better than before this repair. I particularly believe that on the BD-E8300 series, all these accidental blocking faults, which are resolved by pressing the touch power button for 30 seconds, are caused by the touch keypad. After this repair, the BD-E8200 and BD-D8200 will only be controlled by the remote control, as I will not reinstall a new sensitive keypad ... it is no longer available, apparently.
Happy repairing, and don't throw the BD out of the window at the price they cost, they should last ... 10 years not 18 months or 36 months ...

      Happy repairing.
