Hello,
I no longer have a browser on my Mac. I made the mistake of downloading the latest version of Safari, which overwrote the old one. The new version is not compatible with my computer, so I deleted it.
Currently, I have been trying to install compatible browsers for 10.5.8 via USB for the past 10 days, but I keep encountering the same message, something like "version not compatible with your computer"...
I don't know what to do anymore...
Help !!!!
Thank you.
Stephane
PS: I’m not very skilled with computers, you can tell, lol!!!
Configuration: iPad / Safari 7.0

Hello,
For Mac OS 10.5.8, this version should fit:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1422?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Otherwise, all versions of Safari are here:
https://support.apple.com/en_US/downloads#safari
There are also third-party browsers:
https://www.oldapps.com/mac/category/browsers
This combined update may also be useful:
https://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update?viewlocale=en_US
Note that the type of processor may also need to be considered. (Mac with PowerPC or Intel processor - depending on the model and age of the Mac)
Finally, note that if you update in the "normal" way, that is, by going through the Apple menu / Software Update..., the system will automatically install the latest versions of Apple applications compatible with your version of Mac OS and your type of Mac, and therefore it is unnecessary, even inadvisable, to try to impose a newer Apple version.
For non-Apple applications, just launch the application and ask it to check for updates.
Best regards

Francis,
Unlike me, YOU'RE A PRO !!!
I installed the version of Safari offered via a USB key, and it runs perfectly on my 10.5.8 !!!
Congratulations on your computer knowledge and especially for making it available, RESPECT !!!
Best regards.
Stephane.
