Sennheiser headset base not charging anymore

Hello,
Two malfunctions with my Sennheiser headset. On one hand, the base no longer emits its orange light indicating that it's charging (the power supply is new), and on the other hand, the headset itself shuts off after a few seconds - either the green light on the headset stays solid instead of blinking, or there is no green light at all, despite using new batteries.
The only response I received from a specialist was to bring it in for repair. The estimate price is 42 euros, but how much could the repair actually cost?
Has anyone experienced this same issue?
