Good evening,
I invite you to help me find a solution to my problem.
I bought a new computer with the Windows 8 (OEM) operating system.
After installing all the updates for Windows 8, the Windows Store allows me to download Windows 8.1, but that’s when the problems start.
The download of the upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 downloads correctly, but when the computer needs to reboot, the installation gets stuck with error code "0x80004005".
After browsing Google for hours... I found several solutions suggesting that the problem comes from the infamous secure boot.
To do this, I restart the PC, go into the UEFI, boot icon, and I see the famous secure boot option grayed out (in other words, I cannot disable it).
I have already performed a reinstallation of Windows... but the error is still present. I also entered a password in the UEFI but that doesn't change the problem. Still unable to disable secure boot.
Here are the specifications of my PC
Intel® Core(TM) i7-4770K Processor (4.2 GHz) (4 cores) - Intel Z77 Chipset - 2 TB Hard Drive + 128 GB SSD - 16384 MB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 Graphics Card - 4 GB Graphics Memory - Blu-Ray Writer - 16-in-1 Card Reader - LAN 10/100/1000 Mbps - Wi-Fi - USB 3.0 Port - HDMI Port - Xonar Phoebus Sound Card - 20 Kg - Windows® 8 (64-bit)
If you need more information, don’t hesitate, and thank you in advance for your help :)

Hello everyone,
On my side, I found a solution to disable the security boot on an Acer PC.
My goal was to install Windows 7 alongside Windows 8.1. To disable the security boot, I simply set a BIOS access password, which then unlocked the grayed-out features and allowed me to disable the security boot.
