Office Home and Student 2010 Installation

Solved

Hello,

My internet hard drive must have been wiped because my Windows was corrupted. It is now fixed. I want to reinstall Office 2010 that I bought 2 years ago. I only had the installation key. I downloaded Office from the Microsoft/ productkeycard site as indicated on their website. When I try to open the X17-75061 file, it asks me which program I want to open the file with (Adobe Reader, Internet Explorer, Windows Media, WordPad, etc...). Naturally, this does not work. The installation doesn't even start.

I am stuck at this stage. If I look at the properties of the file, it states that it is a file. I have no notes indicating that it is an application or program with an .exe.....

Is there anyone who can help me?

Good evening

Isn't it an ISO file that you downloaded?

See you later

Good evening Guillaume5188,

I don’t know... It is 994 MB and it’s the file that downloaded when I clicked on the download icon on the Microsoft page that indicated I was entitled to download Office 2010 because it recognized my activation key that I purchased 2 years ago.

I tried downloading the program again, same result.

Re

You right-click on this file >>> properties

It tells you what type of file it is

Yes, I know... but under File type: it simply says "file" and the description shows the name of the file.

Re

I am stuck without an activation key.
And I don't see anything indicating the type of downloaded file

It's up to you to find it if you want me to help

Hello Guillaume5188,

I found the solution. It needed to be downloaded from Microsoft/backup in order to work.

Thank you for your help,
