Riso HC 5000 duplicator

Hello everyone, I am looking for a multifunction black and white and color photocopier for the network equipment of my college, which also works as a printer and a scanner: I have heard about the Riso 5500 and I would like to know if the users of this forum are satisfied with it (device price, cost per page, potential issues, print quality and speed...). I should mention that my college's equipment totals around fifty PCs running different versions of Windows, from 95 to XP, so this network is quite disparate. On behalf of the students, I thank everyone who would be willing to share their experience with me.

    The HC 5000 has not been manufactured for almost two years now; it's like talking about a two-year-old computer compared to a next-generation computer.
    RISO knows how to update its range, thank you for keeping up to date before making certain arguments.

    Moreover, a nickname is read as: Geg and not GREG...

      Having a Riso 5500 for our association, I do not recommend it: too difficult to use. It requires training for use and even with ... Rather opt for the new Comcolor range, much more intuitive.

      RISO provides machines with cold printing....the colors are faded, their service is ineffective in case of problems. I do not recommend this brand.

      These machines use liquid inks based on oil, and the ink seeps through the paper. They claim to provide paper, but it is expensive, dusty, and does not retain any quality.
      As the owner of a Comcolor, I do not know what to do to get rid of it, especially since if you do not use it, in addition to paying for an unused machine, they make you pay for copies under contract and refuse to listen.

      The Legal department of RISO must be about as important as the Sales department, given how litigious their contracts are!
      They dangle a ridiculously low cost per page in front of you while deliberately omitting:
      THE ACTUAL AMORTIZATION COST OF THE EQUIPMENT (especially if you don't have a sufficient copy volume to make the investment profitable, because regardless of the model, BELOW 40 to 50,000 A4 pages per month, the operation is often not profitable),
      COPY COMMITMENTS (from which you cannot escape until the end of the so-called rental contract),
      THE FACT OF DISGUIISING A FINANCING OF THE EQUIPMENT WITH A SPECIALIZED ORGANIZATION UNDER A FAKE RENTAL CONTRACT (called "FINANCIAL LEASE" to tie it all in with the notion of RENTING) BUT IN FACT YOU PAY FOR THE EQUIPMENT FOR AN AVERAGE OF 5 YEARS AND, AS THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE, THE SUPPLIER IS PRIORITY OVER YOU TO SETTLE THE FINANCING FILE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE END OF A CONTRACT THAT YOU HAVE ALMOST PAID TO THE LAST CENT!! INCLUDING COPIES BECAUSE YOU OFTEN GET OFFERED TO GLOBALIZE THE VOLUME (OF COMMITMENTS) OF COPIES IN THE "EQUIPMENT" RENTAL:
      WHY PAY INTEREST ON COPIES NOT YET MADE AND PERHAPS NEVER TO BE MADE???

      In the end, the Supplier offers you A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THE END OF THE CONTRACT (when there is only a small remaining balance on the file, but sometimes substantial) to REPLACE THE EQUIPMENT and RE-SIGN FOR 5 YEARS, INCLUDING THE BALANCE OF THE PREVIOUS FILE THAT HE (SUPPOSEDLY) GENEROUSLY GAVE YOU, THEREBY CREATING A FILE THAT CAN BE QUALIFIED AS OVER-FINANCING!
      Moral of the story: I leave you as the sole judge...
