Xbox 360 controller won't turn off

Hello, the day before yesterday, I bought a wireless Xbox 360 controller because the old one was broken, but I have a small problem. Before, since it was a wired controller, when I turned off the console, the controller would turn off as well, but this one is wireless and doesn’t turn off. Please help me, it has been on for 3 days.

You press the big button X in the middle for 10 seconds. A window will open with "Turn off the controller" written on it.
