I have a project to do at the university under Oracle but I can't install it.

INS-30131 Failure of the initial configuration required to run the installation validations

Could someone please help me?

Hi,

Which Oracle version do you install, on which OS, 32 or 64 bit??

There are prerequisites for each version that block installations when they are not met.

The 11g Express must be installed on Windows 7 32-bit: https://www.oracle.com/database/technologies/xe-downloads.html

Hi,

I decided to install version 1, but as a fool I only took File1 and not File2. As a result, the installation went very badly because lots of files were missing. I clicked "cancel," downloaded the missing files, and relaunched Oracle. Now I’m getting: "insufficient disk space" even though I still have more than 700 GB free on the hard drive. I asked for it to install to C:/Program Files/Oracle and the software to be in C:/Oracle. So far it’s installing, but I feel like I’ve messed things up...

I just ran an installation test of version 12 on a Server 2008 R2, on Oracle disk installation takes 4.5 GB

Version 11 sorry. I forgot a 1.
In the installation files and everything it was quite a mess and Oracle refused to install properly.
I had to format the PC.

I need Oracle, could you please detail what I need to do for me?

I installed a version 11G on a 2008 R2 server, in an empty D: directory, ending up using 8 (including 2.5 for installation) GO out of 20 GO.

The 2 zip files must be decompressed and merged in the same directory.

Launch setup.exe.

* PAGE 1
Uncheck the box to receive security updates.
And click Next.

* PAGE 2 You did not specify an address ...
Click Yes.

* PAGE 3
Check the box: Ignore software updates
And click Next.

* PAGE 4
Choose: Create and configure a database
And click Next.

* PAGE 5
Desktop class server

* PAGE 6

* PAGE 7
Verify the chosen configuration
Start the installation by clicking on: Finish

* PAGE 8
At the end of the installation click on: Close

Attention if there is a firewall on the machine you may need to allow the application to perform updates several times.

If the installation goes through to the end ... you will be able to connect to the database.

But there are musts; if you don't have enough disk space, it can't work.

It is installed, but the problem is that I don’t know my username that Oracle told me.
I tried with system and system80 doesn’t work.
I had two errors during the installation but I chose to continue.

You can reset the password, in command line mode:

sqlplus / as sysdba

alter user SYSTEM identified by manager ;

exit

then connect:

sqlplus system/manager

I made you do the same thing I did in parallel.

My database is operational without anything else. The difference is that I don’t have any installation errors. We must therefore go back to the list of unmet prerequisites to see exactly what they are and whether they are solvable, or not.

The listener is either not started, not properly installed, or the environment variables are not declared.

We should check in the services if the oracle...listener...orcl is indeed started.

If it’s the environment variables, the full command would be:

sqlplus /@orcl as sysdba

sqlplus system/manager@orcl (if you have named your database as the default orcl)

Under Linux I installed it on Red Hat, but it’s more complex, there are more prerequisites, you need to check system packages...

You should try on a Windows 32 (bit) with 11G Express, which is a light version.

Hello,  The issue is that: Available hard drive space: 801 GB. Actually, Oracle wants to install into folders where it is already installed. So if I want to reinstall Oracle, I must uninstall it first, otherwise it will tell me about the missing free space....

Hello,  I did it!!!!! Yay !! I just had, I ignored the prerequisites, I only had one error and it worked. With SYSTEM in the login, and my password.  Thank you very much :)
