Hello,
I know there have been tons of sites offering an explanation for this 2009 movie with Cameron Diaz.
I read them, and I was disappointed to see that they all said the same thing, an "explanation" that isn't one since anyone with a minimum of religious culture could understand the religious aspect (Eve, Pandora...), the human aspect (choice, Sartre...).
That's fine.
What I would like to understand more specifically is the concrete aspect of the film that doesn't make you think and that disgusted the majority of viewers.
The person who took Steward's place in his head ---> Extraterrestrial or is it just God?
The nosebleeds ---> is it just the result of mind control?
How are these employees chosen? Randomly?
What is the role of NASA, NSA, and CIA in the whole story? Are they really aware of Steward's little experiment and his goons?
Why do all this exactly, what does it bring to the employers?
What's with the water door delusion?
What is this world map that changes from time to time? With lots of weird symbols?
Why give yet another choice at the end of the film? They are already guilty of pressing the button, so why punish them in such a twisted way?
What exactly does Donna mean, why is she the only one wanting to warn them about what's happening (well, her and the colleague who killed his wife)?
Sorry, it's all over the place and it's long, but I thank anyone who can provide an explanation, whether it's founded or completely subjective, it doesn't matter.
Thank you (:
Come Josephine in my flying machine going up, she goes, up she goes...
Live long and prosper.
