Bittorrent.exe won't run

Hello,
I just downloaded a bittorrent.exe file to launch the BitTorrent application, but while the download goes smoothly and only takes a few seconds, the file won't launch. When I double-click on it, nothing happens. I've redone the download several times, but nothing changes...
I'm using Google Chrome, I'm on Windows Vista, and my antivirus is Avast.
Could you please help me?

    It is very possible that it is blocked.
    If you are sure of your download source, you can unblock it.
    Check the properties of the installer (right-click on 'bittorrent.exe' and properties).
    If at the bottom, after the attributes, you see 'security' and 'this file came from another computer...' click on 'unblock', confirm, and it will work, you can launch the application.
