Hello*
I just bought 2 three-day passes for the Pitchfork festival on viagogo.
The price is fair, but they are digital e-tickets issued by digitick with names on them. I wasn't expecting that; not only can they be printed infinitely, but there is also a name printed on them, and it's clearly stated that an ID may be required at the entrance.
It's impossible to reach the seller for a potential name change, which seems to be possible through digitick, and it's impossible to contact viagogo by phone, there's no way to cancel the order, and no response to emails.
If anyone has had this experience, please let me know how it all ended, and if someone from viagogo is reading this, please reach out to me.

Good evening,
In the end, I was able to get into the U2 concert without any problems. I don't know if anyone else had issues like at the last concert. I just scanned my ticket and that was it. However, there were tickets available a day before the concert in all the official stores (Fnac, Ticketmaster, etc.), but when I bought mine from Viagogo, they were sold out. This is the last time I do this, plus it's more expensive. I hope my testimony is helpful to someone. Thank you.

Hi
I would say to cross your fingers that he doesn't try to get into the festival before you.
As for the name, I've never seen them verify it.

As for those fierce soldiers, I'm telling you, it's not to gossip,
but they just keep roaring in our countryside.

I sell tickets often and it doesn't matter if my name is on the ticket, they don't ask. Only the code matters... It's true that it can be tricky when it comes to the entry because if the person has sold several tickets. In case of a scam, you immediately notify Viagogo... For example, I sold a Stones ticket on the 25th... they will pay me 10 days after the concert. If my ticket is not valid... I won't get paid and they have my details to pursue me... I've never had a problem with this site... and even if they take a commission...
Hello,
There is no entry control, imagine if they had to verify the identity of 20,000 spectators, it's impossible.
By buying an e-ticket from someone you don't know, you're taking a risk because it can be printed and sold multiple times. Keep your fingers crossed hoping that the seller is honest and above all remember that it's the first person who gets in who attends the event, so I advise you to arrive as early as possible.

Yes, that's what I think, but I don't understand how one can sell a simple PDF without allowing the buyer to communicate with the seller.
Digitick allows for name changes, which should secure such a transaction.
Has anyone ever been refused entry using an e-ticket purchased from viagogo?
Could someone from viagogo respond to me?

Hi,
I bet you are talking about the concert in June 2016 by ADELE in Paris.
I am exactly in the same situation. I bought two tickets on Viagogo for this concert and I received them with the buyer's name....
On the Viagogo site, they say that this means that an ID is not required at the entrance.
This is completely contradicted on the ticket which states that the ticket is strictly nominative...
I don't know what to do.

Hello. So for me, it's the opposite; I'm selling 2 tickets for the Rihanna concert in the gold lawn area because I found 2 Golden Circle tickets. I bought them on the Stade de France website, and they don't do exchanges or refunds. I discovered the viagogo site, so I put my 2 tickets up for sale, which are in my first name/last name and that of my partner. Someone bought the 2 tickets. The site tells me they will proceed with the payment afterward. I wanted to contact the buyer to provide them with the invoice and our IDs, or to contact them via Skype to possibly change the names on the tickets to theirs and the person accompanying them, and to delete my Stade de France account in front of them. I emailed viagogo yesterday to find out the buyer's number or email; I'm now waiting for their response. I'm an honest person and want to prove my good faith. I had tried to sell the tickets on eBay; a girl was ready to take them from me, but at the last minute, she almost called me a liar and accused me of trying to scam her, even though I was doing everything to prove my honesty (she had my invoice, my ID, my phone number, my email address, and I even gave her my bank details...). I understand that the buyer might be wary, but to disrespect me like that was hard to swallow. So, I wouldn't want this misadventure to happen again. I have nothing to reproach myself for; I’m not trying to do business but just to sell my first tickets. And unfortunately, no one in my circle plans to go.
Hello everyone, I bought 2 tickets on Viagogo for the Drake concert that took place last night in Bercy. Having received my tickets from a reseller, I was in the same situation as you, afraid of getting scammed!
In the end, we arrived early so we could scan our tickets quickly (just in case someone had the same tickets as us). The tickets were not in our names but in the name of the reseller who lives in the Czech Republic, so unreachable!!! We got in without any problem and our seats were waiting for us. It was great, but given the stress before the concert, I will not use Viagogo again and I do not recommend it to anyone!!!!!

You just need to listen to Julien Courbet, who dealt with a similar case regarding tickets for a Mylène Farmer concert. The only difference is that the victims had not received their tickets.
A lot of discontent, and it’s understandable:
Viagogo has no tickets in advance; you pay, and they have until the date of the concert or desired show to find you tickets without any obligation to deliver.
This is clearly stated in their terms and conditions, but one should also take the time to read them.
In short, you got scammed, and you probably aren't the only ones who received this PDF.
As Pierrecastor said, assuming they don't ask for an ID at the entrance, only the first person with the ticket will get in. If you both have the same ticket and the same name, it will cause a problem.
In short, request a refund, which will surely take months, and next time, in your best interest, stop using cheap ticket vendors and go to safe places like Fnac, Leclerc, etc.

Hello
The resale of tickets for shows and sports events without the organizer's consent is illegal.
Penal Code L313-6-2:
The act of selling, offering for sale, or displaying for sale or transfer, or providing means for the sale or transfer of access tickets to a sports, cultural, or commercial event or a live show, habitually and without the authorization of the producer, the organizer, or the owner of the exploitation rights of the event or show, is punishable by a fine of €15,000. This penalty is increased to €30,000 in case of repeat offenses.
For the application of the first paragraph, any ticket, document, message, or code, regardless of its form and medium, attesting to the obtaining from the producer, the organizer, or the owner of the exploitation rights of the right to attend the event or show, is considered as an access title.
However, purchasing is not penalized (For now..). But in case of problems, it is better not to approach the 'French' Justice.

Hello, I ordered three tickets for the Lady Gaga concert on October 7, 2017, on the Viagogo site, but I have doubts about the tickets. I'm worried they might be fake, and on top of that, they are electronic tickets with the seller's name on all three. I checked the barcodes, and they are different, which is already a good sign. We can't even contact the seller to request a copy of their ID. I hope that on the day, we won't be denied entry because of this. Has anyone ever been denied entry because of the name?
Viagogo are crooks, I just got scammed with the purchase of two tickets for Tomorrowland, they refuse all discussions, I just got ripped off for €800.00!! Don't promote them, boycott this site!!!
Hello,
I'm in the same situation as above:
2 tickets bought yesterday for Adele's concert on VIAGOGO, PDF received but not really nominative: "world stuppy" and "citylights bertrand". Maybe it’s a company ticket or something like that...? So I'm really worried, what do I do at the entrance if they check?!! Do tickets like this exist or is it just a pure scam?! I’m not going to let go for 400 euros... but waiting until June is stressing me out too... what should I do?!

I'm in the same situation; I bought a ticket for a concert in July and today I was able to download it, but there is absolutely no name on the e-ticket. I'm worried it might have been reproduced hundreds of times... Let me know if you were able to attend the event as planned!
Have a good evening

Hello everyone,
I'm writing to share my experience with the Viagogo site.
I stumbled upon this topic while buying tickets for the Phil Collins concert at Bercy for the date of 18/06/17.
Around 21/10/16, I saw that there were 2 dates at Bercy at the time for the 18th and 19th of June.
I checked all the official ticket outlets, but the tickets were not yet on sale.
So, I came across the Viagogo site and found tickets.
Having a rather limited budget (the prices were really exorbitant), I saw some tickets that corresponded, in Category 3, so far away but well placed as they were almost opposite the stage.
I bought 4, for my two sisters, my mother, and myself, quickly making the purchase given the traffic (?) "announced" on the site.
I should have thought more before and taken the time to get informed.
I thought at the time that Viagogo (not knowing this site at all before) must have had exclusivity on the tickets, and that’s why they were more expensive (in hindsight, it’s really not normal, but I believe what follows is much more concerning).
In terms of the transaction, there were no issues.
However, when validating the purchase, the request for a scan of my ID left me a bit perplexed.
Not seeing any information on it, I sent it and received my tickets in electronic form 48 hours later.
And that’s where the stress for the concert began.
I received the tickets: the seats seemed "compliant" (same row and next to each other, the category indicated was compliant, different barcodes, etc.).
Except for one detail: the tickets were not nominative at all.
"Fortunately," they were at least in the same name as the purchaser, which is "Citylights Events."
Knowing a bit about the legal regulations, not having your name on your tickets = a big risk in case of a check of not being able to enter but also the risk that my tickets were duplicated.
I tried to contact the site in the following days without much success, telling myself that they had acknowledged my request but not responding to the risk involved.
All I know is that they are neither exchangeable nor refundable.
I then started to search online for a way to contact the company Citylights Events.
I found two sites: one that lists the company as registered (SIREN number, SIRET, capital, registration date RCS) http://www.societe.com/societe/citylights-events-795060250
and another presenting the company which is an event management company (the head office being in France in the Paris region)
https://www.citylights-events.com
There is no number but just the possibility to send them an email via a messaging box.
I sent them a message asking if it's possible to have a letter from their company stating that the tickets they had purchased were resold to me, along with a photocopy of the purchasing manager (Mr. Bertrand Aurélien).
I quickly received an email explaining that, I quote:
“Dear Miss XXX,
You purchased these tickets
on Viagogo and not directly from us.
We reserve tickets for our corporate clients at cost price.
Some of them sometimes resell them on secondary ticketing sites like Viagogo.
We are not responsible for this.
However, please note that these are valid tickets and not nominative at the entrance.
No identification will be required from you, the ticket indicates the name of the purchaser and not the beneficiary, who is the one entering with it.
ONLY THE SCAN OF THE BARCODE IS IMPORTANT.
Hoping to have answered your question
You can go to the concert in complete peace
Cordially.”
I replied by email asking them to reconsider my request, citing among other things the law, but also the context in which we are today (State of emergency).
To this day, I have never received a response.
Reselling my tickets at this stage would have undoubtedly been complicated because they were non-nominative.
So yesterday, we arrived early at Bercy (luckily my older sister and I live in the Paris region since my younger sister and my mother live in the provinces, so no accommodation costs, but still transport costs).
We arrived early enough to be among the first in line, in case my tickets were void, I could at least check at the box office for other tickets (honestly, I wouldn’t make my family travel just for them not to attend the event in the end).
In the end, after a lot of stress, we were able to pass the controls (searches + scanning of barcodes).
I had a hard time believing it, really.
And it took me about 30 minutes to realize.
We were able to attend the concert and had great memories.
But despite everything, today I wanted to share my experience because if it can help someone, it’s the least I can do.
Then I wanted to share my questioning.
At the time of purchasing my tickets, no official ticket outlet was open.
FNAC, for example, only opened sales 10 days later. On their site, they only had last-minute tickets, which were in the "Golden Square."
With the incredible dumping that occurred for the first two dates, fortunately, additional dates were available for many people to have the chance to attend.
But for June 18th and 19th, we could only go through online resale sites. And being available only on June 18th, I could only go through those sites.
So, how do some small companies and sometimes certain individuals manage to buy directly from the promoter even before the official ticket outlets open?
Honestly, it leaves me very perplexed.
Finally, after returning from the concert, I wondered if people in line with the same barcode as our tickets had tried to enter and ultimately could not attend.
Honestly, if that’s really the case, it saddens me a lot and sincerely bothers me.
Because for many of us, we buy tickets in good faith and often purchased at a high price (outside of the base prices).
The fact that we cannot guarantee the authenticity of our tickets is concerning.
Especially since in many articles I have read, it distresses the audience, the artists, the venues, and the promoters. Basically, almost everyone loses.
Except for the thieves and these resale sites.
In the end, I was extremely lucky, especially since in my case (but I am sure in the case of many others), it was a purchase that required me to save money to be able to offer them to my family.
Hoping that if you have been in this situation or are currently in it, I advise you to go as early as possible and, if necessary, have time to consult with the box office on-site.
Usually very cautious in my purchases, I must admit I was fooled this time by this site and I realize today how lucky I was to have been able to attend with my family.
But this is the first and last time with this site.
I hope this can help some of you, and the only advice I can give you is to absolutely avoid Viagogo or other resale sites if there are safer purchasing options at the time of acquiring your tickets.
Have a great day.

I'm in the same situation for a concert on June 2, 2016. I had already looked into the issues with the resale of named tickets, and yet I ended up with one of those. It is also clearly stated on the ticket "the identification of the holder can be requested at the Gate with the actual credit card that was used at the time of purchase and a valid photo identity card," as well as "it is personal and non-transferable. An official ID card in course of validity with photo can be asked to identify the buyer of tickets." I contacted viagogo while waiting for a response, and bravely set out to find the holder of the name and address on Facebook. I remain in doubt and anxiety, thinking that I might have spent a hundred euros for nothing...
I suppose that if I miraculously manage to contact the seller, it might be possible to receive a copy of their ID, and therefore be accepted at the entrance?
Is the buyer's identity check really carried out correctly at the entrance? (the "can be" asked gives me hope...)
Could someone who has already dealt with this kind of situation enlighten us?

Hello, I am in this situation, I bought a ticket on Viagogo for September and I realized this morning that it is nominative.
Is the ID always checked at the entrance? So, I am worried and fear being refused entry.
I sent an email to Viagogo to see if I could get the ID of the buyer.
Has anyone already entered a concert with this same situation?

Good evening,
I see that we are all in the same situation.... Indeed, I have never seen identity checks at the entrance of concerts. What worries us a bit more is that these are electronic tickets, which can therefore be replicated. We are hesitant to resell them, but it will be exactly the same issue for the next buyer... Have you received any responses?
Thank you.

I got conned, I bought 2 tickets for Guns N' Roses but not in my name. The person is coming from the Netherlands. Great!!! I'm going to sit on their seats.
Good evening, my two e-tickets for the Guns are also not in my name and the address is also in the Netherlands. By any chance, do we not have exactly the same tickets? What is the name and address on your tickets? You can send me a private message. If we do indeed have the same tickets, we will then have proof of their duplication, which I think could be useful.
Hello, I bought an electronic ticket on the viagogo site for the U2 concert at Stade de France and the seller's name is a woman from Catalonia. Has anyone been in the same situation? I also noticed the ticket is written in French and English, while I bought a ticket for the Guns N' Roses concert at Stade de France and that one is completely in French. I hope it depends on which country you purchased the ticket from.
Hello, I bought two tickets for Shakira's concert in Paris on November 10 on Tuesday... I was super happy and proud of myself but only for a few hours! After receiving my electronic tickets: disaster, they are not in my name! Now I am in total panic: they could have duplicated them several times and if they check the IDs....... of course, I sent an email to Viagogo and of course, got an automated reply, I tried to find the person registered on the e-ticket...... nothing!!!!!! I think I will end up becoming a "gogo" myself!!!!! Please, if you were able to get into the concert (or not) with e-tickets via Viagogo, let us know!
Hello, I won't be able to tell you if I can attend the concert because Lady Gaga has canceled her dates, so I hope Viagogo will refund me.
I have already sold e-tickets (in my name) on Viagogo due to professional constraints, and even though it is technically possible to duplicate tickets before selling them, 99% of the time these sales are illegal, and the seller is likely to face legal action in case of issues.
No one benefits from selling copied tickets; over the few years that I have been selling and buying tickets on platforms like Viagogo, I have never encountered a single problem, both with my sales and my purchases.

Hello,
I purchased concert tickets on the VIAGOGO site last Friday. I received my tickets yesterday for the BTS concert on Friday, June 7, 2019, but the order number indicated in the email confirming the tickets does not match the one I initially received during the reservation confirmation, nor does the price (I paid 110 euros per ticket, the displayed price is 67.50) and most importantly, the names on the tickets are not mine, even though we filled out the form correctly! The company’s C.E. will never reimburse me for tickets with a name that isn’t mine.
I also tried to check the validity of my tickets on the Stade de France website by entering the Bloc/ Rang/ Place information indicated on my tickets to locate our seats in the stadium. The site does not recognize the provided information.
To top it all off, I can't access a representative, not even an email address; the "help center" is just a series of multiple-choice questions with pre-set answers, and the voice server only responds to customers whose event is within 72 hours. What a scam! What is this site?!!!
I had reserved these tickets to please my daughter. What a disappointment and especially what stress!! Is there any way to verify the authenticity of these tickets?
The concert is at 8 PM. What time do you think I should arrive?
And if we are turned away at the ticket checks, will I have any possible recourse?
Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hello,
After reading all the reviews against Viagogo, I was not at all reassured about going to the Jonas Brothers concert on February 22, 2020, with an electronic ticket, especially since I paid less for the ticket than its face value.
Everything went smoothly; we arrived well in advance to get in early, and the ticket was not fake!
I still hope it hadn’t been sold multiple times to other people...
So everything ended well for me, but I won't be recommending this site anymore as the stress before the event is intense. However, I wanted to share my story with you to reassure some of you, who might also have good surprises like I did (even if it seems rather rare).

I just bought my ticket for Lady Gaga at the Stade de France on July 24th, and just like you, the ticket does not have my name but that of someone else.
So I'm freaking out because I need to book transport and hotel,
Do you think it will be okay?
Thanks, see you soon
Virginie
Hello, I also bought a ticket for Lady Gaga on Viagogo. The name is Nicolas Garcia, and you?
Good evening, I also bought tickets for the Lady Gaga concert that are not in my name.
Normally, the buyer will receive an email two days before the concert with:
-the information for the concert entry.
-a letter addressed to the buyer authorizing entry for other people.
