Pokémon X and Y: how to delete a save file?

Hello, how can you delete a part in Pokémon X or Y?
The 2-page guide doesn't say, and I'm not happy with the starter I chose....
You should be able to do it from the title screen, but with which buttons? :x

    If you want to erase part c high plus x b at the same time, of course.

      When you still have the screen that says Pokémon, you perform the manipulation, not when they offer you the already created save.
