Hello everyone,
I just acquired a Packard Bell Imédia S2110 equipped with Windows 8.
I burned the system image onto a DVD.
When I wanted to test this bootable DVD, I was caught off guard.
In the boot menu (F12) I had 3 choices.
1: The HDD.
2: The DVD.
3: I can't remember.
When I tried to select option 2, the DVD, a warning message appeared (in English).
Of course, the DVD did not start.
But now, there is only one choice left in this menu.
"Windows Boot Manager".
My question is:
How can I restore the correct menu options (HDD, USB flash drive, DVD),
and at the same time, disable the protection that prevents booting from DVD or USB flash drive?
Thank you all.
Configuration: Windows 7

Hi,
Take a look in the BIOS (UEFI) and disable "secure boot"... you will be able to boot from DVD or USB.
Make sure to check if you haven't disabled the F12 key or something like that.
I'm surprised you were able to create a system image on a single DVD. That's simply impossible. -
Good evening,
Thank you for your response,
No of course, not 1 single DVD, but 3.
I just said "I burned the system image to DVD".
No worries.
So, the "F12" key (Display Boot Menu) is indeed activated, I can access it, but I only have one choice.
"Windows Boot Manager".
As for the rest, I will see.
Thanks again.

Hello everyone,
A big "Yes".
It's all good, I've recovered my boot menu choice (Display Boot Menu).
So, for those who might encounter this:
In the setup (BIOS).
It's in the "Boot Option" tab.
I had the option "Launch CMS" set to "Never".
I changed it to "Always", and there you go.
At startup, by pressing "F12", I can see my options again.
That is to say:
HDD,
USB,
DVD,

Ok,
You say to me:
I can only see one explanation... your DVD altered the boot options in the EFI partition...
how can we fix this?
thank you again.

Yes, that's done first, I didn't mention it.
The DVD reader is indeed set as: 1st Boot device.
The HDD "Windows Boot Manager" is set as: 2nd Boot device.
And nothing works, even with a Boot CD utility.

Hello everyone,
Half of the problem is solved.
I retrieved an "ISO Windows 8" the same as on the PC.
I've put the ISO on a USB stick.
Plugged the USB stick into the computer.
Restarted into the BIOS.
Set the USB stick as the 1st Boot.
Checked that "secure boot" was indeed disabled.
Restarted, and it works.
I have the installation page for my 8.
As for bootable DVDs, I'm no longer looking for them; I must have messed them up.
However, I still haven't found how to restore the "Display Boot Menu" (device boot choice).
I should mention that the "F12" key (Display Boot Menu) is indeed enabled; I can access it, but I only have one choice left.
"Windows Boot Manager."

Good evening,
It's done.
Even the utility boot CDs on USB that couldn't be launched before can now be launched..
Thanks again for everything.

Re- Good evening,
Okay.
It's us both who will "have learned something."
With that, I wish you a good evening.

Hello Baladur13,
Thank you for this clarification, it’s faster.
So, I’m sending my procedure in the last message.
