W8 won't let me boot from my USB drive.

Hello,

I just received a new ASUS F301A laptop with Windows 8 pre-installed. I wanted to get rid of this useless piece of software to install Ubuntu from a USB stick. I start the computer, press the appropriate key to select the boot. It then offers me:

Windows Boot Manager
UEFI: Verbatim STORE N GO 5.00

I select the second option which corresponds to my USB stick. And then, it invariably boots into Windows 8. My USB stick was working fine until then.

If you have any suggestions, they would be welcome!

Thank you,

Best regards,

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 18.0

Well, finally, on Windows 8, there is a security feature they call Secure Boot that needs to be set to disabled (initially enabled) at startup.
    After that, everything launches fine.

    See you!
