Use a MacBook as a TV screen

Hello, not finding an answer to my question, I'm coming to ask you!

I would like to connect my TV modem to my MacBook via an HDMI port. So I want to use the Mac as a TV screen. Is this possible? The reverse is of course possible (viewing the Mac screen on a TV), but I'm looking for the opposite setup. You can connect an HDMI cable from a modem to a desktop PC monitor, so it's technically possible to do this on a Mac, right?

Thank you very much.

Configuration: Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5) / Chrome 30.0.1599.69

Good evening,

This has been possible on certain models of the 27" Mac, but it isn't possible on your Mac. On the MacBook Pro, as on most Macs, there is no video input port. A computer is not a video monitor like the separate screens used on PCs or Macs where the central unit is independent of the computer itself. That is to say, not integrated into the computer itself (all-in-one computers). The case of the 27" iMac, which allowed this, is an exception.

Best regards

Exactly, and that's a shame.
