MacBook not charging

Question

Hello,
I have a problem with my MacBook Pro. So here it is: when I plug in the charger, the green light is very dim, the battery is dead, and the Mac won't turn on.
I gave the charger to my dad, and he tested it on his friend's Mac, and apparently, it worked... But I wasn't there to see it. Why would it charge on his Mac and not on mine?
So I'm wondering if it's the battery that's dead or the charger?

Power management must be reset! 1) TURN OFF THE COMPUTER 2) Leave the charger plugged in!
3) Press the Alt, Ctrl, Shift (the capital arrow that does not light up), and contact keys simultaneously and for ten seconds! The computer should not turn on; if it does, start over! Then release the keys; the charger indicator should turn orange. This means that the problem is resolved! Turn the computer back on, and you will see that the time before charging is displayed.

If the PRAM still exists on Intel Macs, most key functions are now managed at the SMC level, which handles the following according to Apple:
- The response to the power button usage
- The response to the opening and closing of a Mac laptop's screen lid
- Battery management
- Thermal management
- Sudden motion sensor
- Ambient light sensor
- Keyboard backlighting
- Status indicator management
- Battery status indicators
- Selecting an external video source (instead of an internal source) for the displays on some iMacs

If issues are encountered with any of these functions, resetting the SMC can resolve the problem.
Note: This operation is completely safe.

There are three methods to reset it depending on the type of Mac:
- On a desktop Mac, you need to turn it off, unplug the power cord and press the power button for 5 seconds. Then, plug the power cord back in and restart the Mac.
- On a Mac laptop with a removable battery, you need to turn it off, unplug the MagSafe adapter, remove the battery, press the power button for 5 seconds, then reinsert the battery, plug the MagSafe adapter back in, and restart the Mac.
- On a Mac laptop with a <gras>non-removable battery, you need to turn it off, plug in the MagSafe adapter, then simultaneously press and hold the keys (those on the left) Shift, Ctrl, Option, and the power button for a few seconds, then release them all at the same time.
