Hello,
I just bought a Ricoh Aficio Gx e3300n used. It shows the error message "Close the Duplex Unit". I identified this part because when I remove it, I get another error telling me to reinstall it. So I checked this part and it is indeed closed. In the printer’s user manual, the proposed solution for this issue is to… check that the unit is properly closed. Has anyone ever had this problem and, above all, a solution. Personally I don’t need to use the duplex function, but the printer does not work without this part either. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,
"... I just bought a used Ricoh Aficio Gx e3300n..."
You didn’t test it before?
It is possible that during transport, the part might have deteriorated (if it wasn’t already).
In that case, there must be signs of deterioration on the front/back unit.
If that is the case, you only have to find a way to do without this part or replace it cheaply.
In principle, and since it is an optional part, it can be removed and replaced by another part that is much simpler and much cheaper...
Otherwise, it may come from the sensor that detects its presence and/or its closure?
To verify this and see on the manufacturer's official site in the "support" or "troubleshooting" section if the answer isn’t there...
Kind regards to everyone, users of cartridges and printers of all kinds and brands. And especially to those who follow my interventions...

"L' obsolescence programmée " is a myth, a legend, a fantasy, an optical illusion, a mirage, a chimera, an unfounded rumor .....
There is nothing programmable in obsolescence. This pseudo explanation that is "l' obsolescence programmée" does not stand up to thorough examination nor to its confrontation with experience.
If it’s resolved, think of others and come tell us how you did it. Then mark the question as "SOLVED"-
Thank you for your reply. I haven't tested the printer because I bought it on Le Bon Coin. I like to trust people, and in the photo there was ink consumption shown on the menu, so there wasn't this problem at that moment.
Maybe indeed during transport there was an issue, because the delivery person seemed to have trouble with the package...
For the part, I can't do without it because the printer displays the reinstall message when it isn't in place.
So I will try to find a replacement part or have the printer examined by someone...
