Hello,
My computer won't start anymore. A few seconds after its brand appears on the screen, it goes black and nothing happens. I tried in Safe Mode, but it gets stuck on a line ending with aswRvrt.sys.
After searching on Google, I found Farbar Recovery Scanner Tool on a forum in English, but before using it, I would like to get your opinion and advice. Thank you.

Hello,
That's what needed to be done, well done.

Anyway, I managed to fix the problem using the Windows recovery console.

Hello,
I imagine that to do this I would need to successfully start Windows. Otherwise, how can we uninstall Avast without entering Windows 7?

Hello, the first thing to do is to activate the startup menu with the F8 key on boot. Then, you need to disable automatic boot after a crash so that the blue crash screen remains visible. This screen provides fairly precise information about what to do or what can be done. For my part, on a Toshiba NB520, I was able to restart and activate the (attempt at) Windows repair.

I would like to know how you did it? Anyway, waiting for your response
flazz, I pressed the F8 key (perhaps it's a different one for your PC) several times to get the window where you can choose between normal startup or "safe mode". It's in this window that you can also select the Windows recovery console. I hope this explanation was clear enough.
Dinath, I didn't know about the scannow function. Thanks for the info!

Good evening Guigui,
You should find in your computer's manual which key to press right after starting it to access your computer's menu. On mine, this key is "f8", at the top of the keyboard. As soon as you turn on your PC, even before Windows starts, keep pressing this key until the menu appears. The content of this menu varies depending on the version of your operating system: XP, Vista, etc. If it's Win 7, go to Repair the computer or something like that (mine is in Spanish).
Give us more details about your operating system so we can help you.

Hello, I'm currently having the same problem as you, except that I can't access the desktop; the boot in safe mode freezes when the file "aswrvrt" appears.
How can I access the command prompt when I can't even access the desktop?

Hello, I tried safe mode with or without networking, repair, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration... but nothing works! I must admit I am desperate. I am on an HP AMD Athlon II. The origin of my problem is that the PC does not boot; either a black screen appears with a working mouse cursor, or a blue screen with "Welcome" appears.
Thank you in advance.
