Hello,
I am currently struggling. I recently started working as a receptionist in a small hotel.
My manager is making complicated schedules week after week. This doesn't work for us because, on one hand, we can't plan ahead (if I need to make an appointment more than 10/15 days in advance, I don't know my hours) and on top of that, we would like to have a fixed day off each week for all three of us.
I've been turning this around in my head but I'm having a hard time coming up with a fair schedule to present to my boss.
I've tried to make formulas (I'm not very good with Excel either) to calculate the hours.
Has any specialist among you ever done this kind of work?
Thank you in advance.
Gil.

In trying to imagine a schedule for you, I notice you haven't mentioned how the 3 employees work: at the same times, staggered hours, in shifts? Are weekends and public holidays with or without recovery/compensation? Is the fixed day off the same all year round?
A simple solution (for now) while waiting for more information:
A does not work on Monday, works 7:30 hours on Wednesday and Friday, 5 hours on the other days.
B does not work on Wednesday, works 7:30 hours on Monday and Friday, 5 hours on the other days.
C does not work on Friday, works 7:30 hours on Monday and Wednesday, 5 hours on the other days.
Retirement is great! Especially in the Caribbean ... :-)
