Hello everyone
I've bought a GPS brand << Philips pns 500 >> with lifetime free updates
I've noticed some anomalies on my route, does Philips respond to GPS update requests?
I sent them a message requesting this, but since I registered with Philips after the purchase, I haven't received a response!
Or how can I perform the update?
Best regards

Hello,
When you purchased your GPS, did you have a CD or DVD? Have you connected your GPS to your computer? Sometimes software installs automatically on the computer to allow for updates, as after checking the Philips website, I could not find a link to update your device; I only found the user manual.
As for route anomalies, you can always try restoring it to factory settings.

Re hello
thank you thomas2802, regarding the GPS
no, I didn't receive any CD or DVD.
I registered on the Philips website to benefit from free updates
I connected it to my PC, I didn't receive any update request, so I concluded
that it was good!!!
according to Philips, when there is an update, they send it to me by email (so?) should I believe it?
how to proceed: restore factory settings
Best regards -
I don't specifically know Philips GPS devices ^^ by the way, before seeing yours, I didn't know they made GPS devices, I'm more knowledgeable about TomTom and Garmin
but if that's the case, maybe it's true that they'll send you an update only when your GPS needs it via email. Even though it seems strange to me that they don't offer a software to install on the computer to actually do this update.
In any case, you can always ask for advice in-store in case of problems or doubts, a consultant should know what to do for your model of GPS.
For factory reset, have you tried looking in the settings and maybe system, factory reset (or reset to default)? The categories are random, it varies from one manufacturer to another but the objective is always the same.

Hello again
the GPS mapping is TomTom, it's stated on the box
just in case?
thank you for your information
I will ask for advice at the store
Best regards -
Sure, they should be able to help you better with the update as no information was found on the Philips website.
Yes, it is quite possible that Philips relies on TomTom for its GPS maps. But that doesn't help with the update as the map needs to be modified by Philips.

Hello
thomas2802
Well, this is what I received from Philips (You will receive an email indicating the update procedure as soon as
it is published, once or twice a year.)
Best regards,
The Philips Customer Service Team

hoping this is true?
we'll see later

Email received this week to download the update with activation code.
I had 3 days left to access the update, the link being valid for 7 days.
2 hours of downloading for a file of 1.33 gigabytes at a speed of 2 megabytes at home.
The installation must be performed under Windows, the file being an .exe
Then connect your GPS, turn it on, wait for the connection with the PC.
Once that’s done, right-click on the Philips_Updater icon, then click on "run the file as administrator."
The software launches, creates a backup, and proceeds with the update, which is very long: Don't panic! (as can be seen in the intergalactic backpacker's guide...)
It really takes a long time... no, really...
Enter your activation code, you will be asked to verify the proper functioning of the GPS, for that disconnect the device.
If it works correctly, click OK,
If not, reconnect it and click restore.
All this to say that like many, I thought it was a scam, but no, it’s not the case.
For your information, I registered more than a month after buying the GPS, normally, you should do it within 30 days to benefit from lifetime updates.
GPS is quite good overall.

Hello, my sister just acquired the same GPS and she can't figure out how to update it either. Did you find the solution? Did Philips get back to you?
Thank you in advance. -
For six months, perhaps... but he has never come back to tell us.

Hello,
I also bought this model; I am a delivery driver and if you want to use it daily for work, spend a little more but don't count on it to save you time unless you enjoy taking detours.
As for the update, after three months I finally received an email to download the update software, but unfortunately it doesn't work. -

Hello
After numerous download attempts, both on Vista IE8 32 bit,
and Windows 7 64 bit, I only managed to get about 300 MB, after which
the download stops!
Yesterday, I sent an email to ***@***, so they could resolve the issue
dolo51290: yes, Philips responds if you ask them a
question!!! (they have always responded to me)
For now, I'm waiting for a response regarding the update

Hello FIFI27620
Did you ask them if you haven't received any updates yet?
I bought this GPS in July > registration on Philips-car and confirmation of update processing
On 24/02/2014: I received, by email;
to download a specific application for my device based on cartographic data and the PHILIPS PNS model, specifying that
(The download link remains active for 1 week from the date of this email)
. The size of the file to download is over 1 GB,
after the update process, you need to enter a license code
You should send them an email at philips-car.com for the updates

Hello, I have a big problem with this Philips GPS pns 500/12. After a bad manipulation, I formatted the GPS and I no longer have the software on the GPS. I wrote to Philips but have not received a response from them. I managed to reinstall after xxxxxxx updates, but the GPS no longer receives satellite signals. So could you please send me the original software, and then I will see if it picks up satellite signals? Thank you in advance.

For now, after two registration attempts on
http://philips-car.com/maps
I am unable to complete my registration. -
Hello everyone
I bought the Philips PNS 500 GPS and registered on their website, and the day before yesterday I received an email containing a link to download the update. I did that manually, but unfortunately my device doesn't work now, so could someone send me the software for this device or tell me a site to download it?
Thank you in advance -
Hello everyone, I recently got a GPS PNS510bt/12 and I've noticed that there is no software on PC to perform updates. However, on my GPS, the device is still set at 80 km/h while it has been changed to 70 km/h for several years. I'm missing something, but what?
P.S.: I have registered my product and received the confirmation email nearly two months ago.
Thank you. -
Hello,
Whoever miraculously possesses the latest update for the PNS 500/12, please share it with others. Purchased on 04/12/2013 at Electro Dépôt during a promotion, I registered on DPA and received an update in early 2014. Since then, nothing despite the various emails sent. They don’t even bother to respond.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide a recent update.
Best regards,
JPA
