Hello everyone, here it is, I can’t log in to MSN Hotmail’s messenger anymore, with any address, after I enter the address and the password, it tries to connect and then gives me a blank page with the message: The connection to login.live.com is secure (RC4-128). Yet I haven’t changed anything and I also have a G5 Intel Core 2 Duo with Firefox where it works perfectly. I don’t understand, I’ve checked the security settings in Explorer 5.1 preferences on the G3 and nothing would block the connection... And on top of that I can’t switch to Windows Live on the G3 because it doesn’t handle the interface. If anyone has had the problem before and solved it, let me know because I kept it only for checking my roommates’ emails who are all on Hotmail. Thanks in advance. juu371

Hi Juju,
Maybe by moving Hotmail Preferences?
To see if, at the next Hotmail load, it works again.

Hello
I have the same problem but no solution... but here are a few hints: we should verify that certain SSL options are checked in preferences... but that's a PC answer and I don't know how to access these changes on Mac...

Hi,
On an English site (https://www.applefritter.com/node/6858) a person had the same problem. After checking that the date and time were correct on the Mac (the date and time would be used during encryption), he switched from Internet Explorer 5 to Mozilla and that resolved his issue. To test

Hello,
I had the same problem as you. I asked Microsoft. They were arrogant and told me that from now on email account connections are secured and PCs below XP will no longer be able to access secured sites!!
Same for Macs, you need at least a Mac OS X, I have a 9.1 so to speak I can only dream of still accessing my mailbox... except on another computer because indeed I can access my mailbox from my work computer but at home, it’s over or I’d need a newer version.
I told them my way of thinking, namely that it’s a masked consumer strategy. Securing certain sites why not but at the same time they push the stubborn to finally consume and get a new machine. For me, I use the internet as a mailbox and as an encyclopedia, that’s about it and I’ve decided not to follow the evolution while keeping an old model at home. But no, sir, it doesn’t work like that in our world, YOU MUST BUY ...BUY BUY. My reaction to this leap forward is a big leap backward, I cut my connection and use my work connection.
Find out, you’ll see, call MICROSOFT and all the others who participate in this scam and let them know what you think.

I can't believe it!!! I have the same problem and I'm on a MAC, I have a Powerbook G4 with Mac OS X 10.3.5, it's still quite recent though. I'm going to check my emails from another search engine (Safari) and it works very well, but with Explorer, nothing works.
I have a brand new Powerbook Mac and Safari as my browser, and for a week now I can't log in to my email, or sometimes I can, but I don't remember how I did it :-s Too clever by half...
Hello,
I also have that kind of problem. It’s just that I can’t open the Hotmail page. I can’t type my email address and my password. I manage to do it on a PC. What’s going on? and how to solve the problem? thank you in advance.

I’ve had Firefox for 6 months, a good browser that I quite like, but I can’t access my Hotmail with Firefox for 2 days. As soon as I try... blank page. I can view my personal information on my Hotmail account via www.account.live.com, but as soon as I click on my inbox... same thing, blank page. I’ve run 5 antivirus and antispyware programs: Avast, Spybot, SpyHunter, Malwarebytes, WinCleaner antispyware, nothing works. Could the problem be related to that little prankster who likes to send emails on my behalf. I contacted Hotmail yesterday and they opened a private forum for us to try to fix the problem. And now it’s been a day and they haven’t written anything. Damn and damn…!!!
Hello,
I’m having trouble connecting to my Hotmail inbox and I’m on a Mac with Safari... when I reach the page where I should normally be able to enter my username and password, there’s an error message. Can someone help me troubleshoot?

Hello,
I have the same problem. Actually, I let the error page open. I click on the Windows Live credentials. A page opens with my email address. I then enter my password. I confirm. Another page opens giving me my settings. I retype the hotmail address. And I access it without any problem. If someone has a faster solution, I’m also interested. Good evening

Hello,
read these messages, and in particular test the 2 possible links from Safari, depending on whether you have migrated to Windows Live or you need to use the old MSN Hotmail:

Hello!
obviously- same problem!
I’ve had my MacBook for several months and everything was fine, and suddenly (about a week ago) it’s impossible to connect! (Even with all your advice!) Any other ideas?

A piece of advice: if an attempt from a Web browser fails, first test the two possible links indicated throughout the discussions.

Hello,
On a brand new Mac with Leopard, it’s also impossible to access my Hotmail mailbox (long loading, then error page) so I tested the link provided by Sanspseudo, on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 00:25:04; there I clicked on the announced messages and miracle, I managed to enter my inbox; hope it lasts! you should try...

Personally, nothing helps; I can’t log into my Hotmail inbox. I was thinking of putting Leopard in place of Tiger, but apparently that doesn’t help… so it’s a pain. Honestly, a little help and a cup of coffee in return! :)
Happy holidays to everyone,

Hi,
the solution that worked for me:
Open Safari / Preferences / Privacy / Show cookies / Clear all
And the browser finds the Hotmail page...
Good luck..
