an access denial error....... Solved

Question

Good evening,

when I make a change in msconfig, I get the message: an access error was returned when attempting to modify a service, I've tried everything to get rid of this notification and it keeps coming back, does anyone know how to remove it? Thank you for your response and have a good evening!

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi;

I have exactly the same problem with msconfig, I modified the Dword value to 3 for the key in the registry (I have a Deskjet 722c printer and a Scanjet 2300c scanner) and I also tried several restorations without success, I always get the message: "an access denied error was returned while attempting to modify a service"

I don't feel like reformatting, I hope to find a simpler solution...

Ok, I finally found what was causing this message for me, it's my antivirus McAfee (Total Protection 2007), by uninstalling it the error message disappeared and I can use msconfig without any problem, with Avast (and probably other antivirus software) I no longer have this bug...
