Yes exactly, I have an impression that the taskbar is acting up, what do you think?

Hello,
Launch the Firefox executable, once it’s open, you will have the icon in the taskbar, right-click on it, Pin this program.

I did as you told me, but the line "Pin this program" is not there.

 And is the shortcut on the desktop still there?

Yes, there is a shortcut on the desktop.

 Either you take the desktop shortcut and drag it to the taskbar, or you launch Firefox and right-click on Firefox in the taskbar and "pin this program to the taskbar."

For the first one, I dragged it to the taskbar, but it doesn't stick in there.
The second solution doesn't work either.

Hello

Are you on your administrator session?

Is there an "Run as administrator" option when you right-click?

Your link may be dead? Is your taskbar locked?

1) Create a new shortcut by right-clicking on the Mozilla icon in "All Programs."
In the dropdown menu, click on "Send to" and choose "Desktop (create shortcut)."

2) Unlock your taskbar.
To do this, right-click on an empty part of the taskbar.

In the dropdown menu, the status of your taskbar will be indicated.
Normally, it should be noted as locked.
- In this case, click on "Lock the taskbar," which will unlock it.
- If you see it noted as unlocked, leave it unlocked for the next step.

3) Right-click on the new shortcut and while holding it down, drag it onto the taskbar.

4) Lock your taskbar:

Hello

What have you installed recently?

Because the symptoms you're describing sound like an infection!

Hi Bridget

A restore from before the issue could be a solution ;)

Hello domxaline

First, try Bridget's manipulation (whom I greet warmly ;) )

If that doesn't work, then perform a restoration to a point before the installation of this software

Click on the start menu>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore

Choose a date before your problem

Absolutely. I set up this procedure to be sure because if it doesn't work, it's some dirt that has infiltrated, so recovery is the best option in that case. After that, we need to check the condition of the PC.

GOOD ANSWER FOUND HERE http://forum.telecharger.01net.com/forum/high-tech/LOGICIELS/Windows-7/windows-epingler-disparu-sujet_354496_1.htm

Good evening everyone

I could no longer pin a program to the taskbar

and I understood why

For cosmetic reasons, I had, while tinkering with the registry, removed the arrows on the shortcuts by changing the name of a key (like in XP or Vista without damage) but this key is obviously also linked to the action of pinning to the taskbar

for those who have removed this key (or like me renamed it... because it's less dangerous) I will indicate its location and syntax here to recreate it

You must, of course, access the registry:

-> Start Run Regedit

Then search in the left panel

-> HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile

Recreate (or rename back) the missing binary value
(type REC_SZ icon with an ab):

-> Recreate the value: IsShortcut

Leave the key data empty

close regedit and restart the PC

The arrows on the shortcuts are then back :hurle: but also the ability to pin a program

Now, I would like to pin the C.. that linked this key, which a lot of people delete, to the pinning function :o

Hello,

Either you take the desktop shortcut and drag it to the taskbar, or you launch Firefox and right-click on Firefox in the taskbar and "pin this program to the taskbar"
