Hello,

Hello,
I have a WALTHAM television, but it won't turn on, not even the red light indicating that it is on.
Thank you to anyone who knows the issue or reason why this television suddenly won't turn on anymore.
Best regards.

Hello, my name is Patrick (I don’t like nicknames...) and I wanted to thank everyone on this forum who helped me fix my son’s WALTHAM TV, which had a power supply board 17PW82-3 that seemed to be non-functional. It turned out that it was just the 150 µF / 450 V capacitor that was dead.
If this can help someone else, here were the symptoms:

- After a power outage.
- Red indicator on the front lit up and noises (like a constant humming and clicking). In my "younger days," I knew what this type of noise meant, but it’s been sooo long...)
- Unable to turn on the TV with the remote.
- I unplugged and then replugged the power cord and still unable to turn on the TV. Neither with the remote nor by the front panel button.
- Fault search by visual inspection (deformation, components, burnt smells, or blackening) and some voltage tests.
- And then a "brilliant" idea (yes, I know, my ego is inflating...), I desoldered the capacitor and replaced it with another one I had from another faulty TV board (Oh! Yes! Another broken TV... What a fantastic end of the year!) and then, miracle!!! (Thank you, oh! gods of electronics) It works.
That’s it, thanks again and Happy New Year to everyone.
Patrick

Good intervention, indeed, but where is this capacitor located because I have the same problem. Thank you.

Good evening,
I just saw your message. I will try to dive back into the research to help you locate it. But I can't do that right now. I will keep you updated probably tomorrow.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hello, I also have a WALTHAM television and my flat screen won't turn on; the red light blinks 4 times.
