Good evening,
I have a HP Pavilion dv6 with Intel HD graphics, I’d like to play some games but my dedicated video memory is only 64 MB; when I go into my settings I’m told I have 1696 MB free. I’d like to modify that, set it to around 1 GB; I’ve seen that it’s possible via the BIOS. I just don’t really know how to go about it.

Also I upgraded my PC to Windows 8, if I modify the BIOS settings will it revert me back to Windows 7?

I’m looking forward to your responses :D

Best regards

The dedicated RAM or VRAM is not expandable because it is dedicated.

To enable shared RAM for video on an HP, enter the BIOS at startup with F2 and modify the shared RAM size for the video.

Yeah but then, the performance is awful on the desktop... Anyway, this kind of graphic chips aren’t made for gaming...

Does it affect the operating system, files, or applications?

Well I don’t agree with you.. If it has 4 GB of RAM and it shares 1, already, you’ll feel it, especially on a laptop where the hard drive spins at 5400 rpm....

I'll try that then, and as for the crappy performance, apparently it's not on every PC; I have a friend who did that and his PC ran as well as before in terms of performance but better in terms of graphics.
