Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted. However, I have never stopped reading the forums. Well, I have a 1 TB Samsung HDD that displays "unable to read the MFT" with Recuva, which does not see the HDD with Easy Recover, and does not show NTFS in the manager. The starting point is: Q:\ is not accessible, the file... unreadable. It is filled with 935 GB of data. This happened due to an error. I wanted to restore an image of my Disk C and, by mistake, I assigned it to the 1 TB Disk. I quickly turned it off after 2 minutes, but probably too late!! I had a recovery technician from Seagate who thinks the HDD is probably recoverable.

good evening booster31, a thousand apologies, I indeed forgot to ask my question. I would therefore like to be able to read the MFT so that Recuva can see the HDD.
What version of Recuva do you have?
If you have a version prior to 1.39, the problem would come from the software that fixed a bug starting from version 1.39.
If you have version 1.39 or later, it seems that the MFT is fragmented and you would need to use Diskeeper to defragment it.

Hello booster, I only come by CCM from time to time. I have version 1.46, that is to say, the latest one. Since my post yesterday, I used Stellar 6.0 to recover my files, but it only gives me 15 GB out of 935!! Furthermore, it seems to be "only" the OS copied by mistake. I'm in deep trouble, as the saying goes. This morning I spoke to another technician from Seagate who recommends R-studio. What do you think? @++
I don't know R-Studio, to be honest, I don't know many recovery software.
I only know that this type of recovery software is never "reliable" at 100%, it all depends on the condition of the hard drive (clusters, mechanical issues, etc.).
For example: if your hard drive has a cluster or a series of damaged clusters, the software will have difficulties or even an impossibility to continue

Hello, Booster31. I'm having a lot of trouble with discussions. To be honest, I'm lost. Last night, I tested Easus which shows me: 12.5 GB of system files
((corresponding to the Acronis image restored by mistake on disk 1 for you) and 920 GB not visible. I made some captures but I don't know how to post them on the topic. Please help me.
