Hello, I downloaded GTA IV not long ago, and now I would like to play multiplayer, so I downloaded the patch 1.0.7.0 and all that stuff. When I double-click on the GTAIV icon on my desktop, I get an error message:
The ordinal 5364 could not be found in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV.exe.

DON'T TELL ME TO REINSTALL THE GAME, MY CONNECTION IS TERRIBLE, thanks :)

Also, I had a lot of hours of gameplay saved, and I'm afraid of losing everything, thanks
reply quickly!

    Hello turtledu 60,

I recently had the same issue as you when installing the latest patch.
Actually, this ordinal is found in a DLL of GamesForWindowsLive.
Since the version of this program that comes with GTA IV is extremely old, the update for GTA does not work with it. Therefore, you need to install the new version of GFWL that you can find here:

    http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient

    or here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5549

This is the latest version to date: 3.5 (70 MB)

    Benefits:
    - Multiplayer
    - New mods available for 1.0.7.0
    - Faster startup
    - and most importantly, it keeps your saves ;)

    Have a good afternoon!

I managed to solve the problem in the meantime: the xlive.dll file was corrupted, I redownloaded it and everything worked perfectly! I will follow your link for the multiplayer, thanks!

I have the new version, but I think I don't have the correct patch 1.0.0.4.

Do I need to download 1.0.07? Thank you for your response.

Indeed, for everything to work properly, you need to download the patch 1.0.7.0 available on the Rockstar Games support site (or on 01net) here:
https://www.rockstargames.com/downloads#/?collection=9 (go to "Patches" then to GTA IV and "Title Update Version 1.0.7.0)

Moreover, this patch contains all the previous ones. Even though some recommend applying each patch one by one, you can definitely go straight to 1.0.7.0 (even from the original version). I personally tested this method on different computers and each time it was successful.

      Normally, everything should work correctly!
