Colorize text search results (Ctrl+F) Solved

Question

Hello,

I am looking for how to format (in bold, color, highlighted, etc.) the results (the cell) of a text search launched by Edit/Find (or Ctrl+F) in an Excel 2003 file on Windows XP. I am not sure if this is possible?

Hello,

Try using the Replace tool (Ctrl-H).
By clicking the "Options >>" button, a button will appear to the right of the "Replace with" field to specify the format of the replacement text.

Thank you Grincheux for your response, but I do not want to replace the text found "a posteriori"; I actually want the result of my search (the cell or the text contained in this cell) to be "automatically" and "systematically" highlighted or bolded, for example. This is actually a search for names in a phone directory done in Excel. This search works well, but when the name in question is found, I would like it to be "highlighted".

If the coloring is to be temporary (only for the duration of the search), I suggest using conditional formatting:

Cell A1 will serve as the search field where you will enter the text to search for.

Then, add conditional formatting to your entire search range, which will highlight each cell whose content matches (or contains) the text in A1.
