Problem with Verbatim 500GB external hard drive model 53008

Hello,

I have a 500 GB external hard drive that I've owned for 5 months, and recently it's not functioning properly. Before, once connected to my computer, it would be recognized immediately and the hard drive would emit a flashing blue light. Now, when I connect it, it makes a sound like an alarm and the blue light is still on but no longer flashes.
I kindly ask for your help in resolving this issue. I have tried connecting it to all my devices and it has always done the same thing. However, I know they are working properly because other devices function normally. That's why I think the problem lies with the hard drive.
I wanted to know if a similar problem had happened to any of you, and if so, how did you manage to resolve it?
Thank you in advance!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 25.0.1364.97

no, my computer doesn't see it...
I had already tried what you said, but since it doesn't see it, it doesn't work...

(It's really me, I just signed up to make it easier)
and well, before posting my message, I had actually checked on this site how to do it and someone had given the same tip as you, which is to go to disk management, but my hard drive is not detected (no, I didn't try to connect my external hard drive internally XD)

Let's go into the BIOS? Connect your hard drive to your PC or another PC
and as soon as you press the power button, keep tapping Escape
there you can navigate and check if you see your HDD. You can take some photos if you have any doubts.

I unfortunately cannot access the BIOS; I did what you said, I even looked for other methods on this site but nothing works, my computer starts up too quickly and there is never "setup" written at startup.

When you connect it to your PC, is it detected?
If yes, right-click on Computer => Manage => Disk Management and see if it's there, then check the partition.
If you don't see it, we'll take a look in the BIOS; if you still don't see it, we'll take it out of its box ^^ and put it in internally.
