RAM on ASUS X73S

Solved

Hello/Good evening,

I have an Asus PC: MODEL X73S, MB ver. K73SV. I have 4GB of DDR3 RAM at 665.27MHz.

This is summarized here:
http://nsa31.casimages.com/img/2013/02/10/130210090954102031.png

I would like to know, since I want to add a RAM stick, if I should choose a stick with a maximum frequency identical to the one already present (667MHz) or higher, what size I should get (1; 2; 4GB or more), whether I would notice a change by adding RAM, and finally, a reliable site where I could purchase this stick.

To summarize, I would like to know:

Should the frequency of the second stick be identical to the first or can it be higher?
What is the maximum total RAM size supported by my computer?
Will a change be noticeable right after the upgrade?
A reliable site to buy one and how to identify the right one.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Best regards,

Dimitri.

Configuration: Windows 7

    Frequencies are important.

For example, the very first RAM sticks had relatively low frequencies.

    Here’s a handy link: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM

However, the frequency is managed by your motherboard. If it doesn’t support frequencies higher than 1333MHz, then your RAM stick will be useless.

Additionally, it is always preferable to have two RAM sticks of the same frequency. But nothing prevents you from having two sticks with different frequencies.

Is the one sent by Chochojunior correct?

this module is compatible, but the downside of RAM is that you're never 100% sure.

The one on this site has a frequency of 1,333 MHz, which is 2 times higher than the one I currently have. Is that serious?

No, it's normal; a 1333 MHz stick has an effective frequency of 667 MHz.

Sure, thank you very much for your help. Do you happen to know how many GB of RAM my PC can support?

Always divide by two the frequency written on the box.

There are also plenty of parameters to take into account, the speed of the RAM sticks, and many other things.

To keep it simple, add a RAM stick that is 4Giga, with a frequency of 1333MHz.

You will have 8Giga, each at 667MHz.

      the rhythm I checked 9.9.9.24
and the max RAM is 8GB

I just took apart my PC, or at least what allows access to the RAM, and the shape of the RAM on the site does not match what I have:

I take this opportunity to show you the slots:

      So take this one

but in my opinion, it's just that the image is bad on RDC because it looks like a DDR2.

Don't forget to choose RAM for a LAPTOP.

The one for desktops is not the same at all.

    Good evening,
I apologize for reopening a topic that is several months old.

I am looking to add RAM to my Asus x73s.
Everything is perfectly fine on that front, but I was wondering about the links from RDC; the second one doesn't lead me to a module, but to a list.
I searched through that list but had no luck.
I was then wondering if the module from the first RDC link http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Composants/Memoire-PC/Memoire-portable-SoDimm/CORSAIR/3002771-Memoire-portable-DDR3-corsair-SODIMM-PC3-10666-4Go-1333-MHz-CAS-9.htm is compatible with my computer.

    Thank you in advance!
