Hello,
I have an (old) Asus P7P55D-E motherboard and I'm trying to install the maximum RAM, but I can't find all the information on the ASUS website.
- max Gb/stick: is it 4Go or is 8Go possible?
- max frequency: "DDR3 1600/2200(O.C.)*" but is PC4-17000 at 2133MHz possible?
- what is the difference between PC4-17000 and PC3-17060MHz?
Thank you for your support!

Hello,
A priori the maximum allowable is 16 GB
https://dlcdnwebsites.asus.com/maintain/web/500.html http://www.crucial.fr/fra/fr/mise-a-niveau-compatible-avec/ASUS/p7p55d-e
As for the frequencies.. DDR3-1600 or PC3-12800 800 MHz
DDR4 or PC4 is a newer generation of RAM than DDR3
This generation will be incompatible with your motherboard.--

It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...

Thank you for the reply! With all these new RAMs on the market, I need a "contemporary" confirmation (the best one for my motherboard) because the frequencies have skyrocketed (I currently have DDR3 @ 668MHz, but it seems that the motherboard supports up to 2200MHz, right?). So would a pack like "G.SKILL RipJawsZ, 16GB (F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH): 4x 4GB, DDR3-DIMM, PC3-17000 (2133MHz), CL9-11-10-28-2N, heatspreader • Intel validated/Intel XMP" be suitable?

You have memory at 666MHz, which means it's DDR3-1333
The motherboard supports 2200MHz provided you overclock the processor.
Without overclocking, you should use DDR3 1600 or PC3 12800 with a frequency of 800MHz
Here's what G-Skill lists as compatible
