Subwoofer connection, unknown black socket..

Hello,

I acquired an Eltax atomic a-8 subwoofer and a pair of Eltax Hollywood front speakers.
But the only problem is that I don't know how and what to connect them to.
Behind the subwoofer, there is a power socket to turn it on, 2 right/left high level IN jacks and 2 right/left high level OUT jacks, 2 knobs for adjustments (one for subwoofer level and another for low pass frequency), and lastly a black line input jack.
I don't know much about sound systems, and I thought the black jack was an RCA jack, but apparently not since there is only one.

Thanks in advance.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 18.0

Well, I don't have an amplifier indeed, there is a built-in amplifier so I was thinking of connecting it to my PC but I don't see how to do that at all.

What kind of computer do you have?

I have an old PC with XP on it, but there’s a jack plug at the back. So if the cable has a black plug like on the subwoofer and a jack plug on the other side, it should work.

No, if you only have a jack output on your PC, it won't work as you want because it's an output for speakers. What you need is either an external sound card or a new PC.

Hi

Do you have an amplifier? If so, here’s how to connect the subwoofer

The black socket marked input is an input, so on your amplifier, if you have one, there should be a sub output of the same color as on the subwoofer. Using an RCA cable, it doesn’t matter if it’s a red and white cable; you can connect either the red or the black. Connect one of the two colors to your amplifier and the same color to your subwoofer.

The pin connectors are used to connect a pair of front speakers, but it’s unnecessary because the amplifier takes care of that.
