Hello,
I have an LG MG 64 VCR. I don't use it much anymore except to watch VHS tapes of cartoons (for my little girls). The problem is that it works perfectly for about half of the movie, and then there are a lot of lines, making it unreadable, and we can't understand anything.
Could someone please tell me the reason? I thank you in advance, especially for the little ones.
Happy New Year to everyone
JClaude

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 12.0

K7 (tape) defective try with others
Drive motor or tape rollers worn, cleaning may be enough or replacement (but it will cost more than the value of the device)

Thank you very much, Hombourgeois, but could you tell me how to clean the pebble and where?
See you soon.

open the beast
put a tape and locate its path
remove the cassette
off course, turn it off!! clean gently all the parts that come into contact with the tape using a cotton pad soaked in isopropyl alcohol or, if not available, in 90° alcohol
for the drum (the big thing that spins) it is imperative to clean in the direction of rotation and never up and down!!
Let it dry and try

Well, there are other possible things, but it's more delicate and not easy to do for a layperson.

Sorry for the late reply... but I’ve been overwhelmed, here’s the REASON:
I followed your advice and since then, I’ve been rewatching all my tapes
It’s working really well, and I’m taking the opportunity to sort through them; indeed, some are unusable.
Thank you again
I would like to say it’s a debt of gratitude, but I believe you’re more skilled than I am.
Best regards

Well yes, it's a small mountain in your area!!
Here near La Rochelle, it's just a few degrees above zero.
