Palm not reading memory card

Solved

Hello!
I bought two memory cards so that I could read music files on my new Palm.
When I insert these cards into the Palm, it says "no card."
However, these cards work; I just tried them on my camera, and they are also recognized by my PC.
Furthermore, the Palm is capable of recognizing a memory card since it can recognize a third card that I have.
Where is the problem?
Thank you in advance for your help!

What type of SD card?

2 GB from the brand Dane-Elec (it's the seller at Fnac who told me to get these for my Palm).

The card that the palm can read is a SD secure digital brand PNY with a size of 256MB.

Hi,
I had quite a few problems getting a 1GB SD card to work on a Palm T3, but after formatting the card, updating the Palm, and installing some software (whatever software) from a card reader, it worked. I don't know if this will work on your device, but you can always try.
Good luck

Thank you, Max, for your response.
For steps 1 and 2, I understand, but for step 3, "installing software from a card reader (regardless of the software)," I'm not quite sure what you mean?

I simply installed a software, but instead of going through the Palm installation assistant, I just created the folders and copied the files directly without going through the Palm, but through a card reader that I connected via USB.

Well, I set up the card (with a card reader independent of the Palm)
then I resynchronized the Palm and the computer.
I can put things on the card, that works.
But the Palm still doesn't recognize the card. It says "no card inserted"
Thanks anyway, it was a good idea!

Is there anything else to try?

Try updating the OS of your Palm.

Good evening Max;

I went to the Fnac customer service. The guy first checked that the reader supported the 2 gigabytes, which it does. So, he thinks it’s defective and took it back for a new one...
The new one doesn't read the 2-gigabyte SD card either, it's driving me crazy!

Anyway, thanks for your help!

Hi
did you manage to get your Palm to recognize your 2go card?

As above: according to the model, the size is limited. 1GB is the max for a T3, 2GB for T|V, T|X, E2... I believe
Especially, if you want your card to be recognized, FORMAT IT ON THE PALM
There is a system utility that allows you to do this.
Then, you can also use it on a reader, or with your Palm connected to a computer, like a USB drive.

If it helps you, some palms like the Tungsten
E2 do not recognize cards larger than 1GB
and often the sellers do not even know it, I had this problem with mine.

Exactly, just go to the official Palm site to find in a well-hidden section:

http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=16,E=0000000000597157356,K=1425,Sxi=1,Case=Obj(9335

everything is said: that is to say NADA for a 2GB SD CARD.

Hello,
my memory card works fine. What I can tell you is to get a 1GB SD card.
However, I have a concern.
My Treo 650 does not take a SIM card. I don't know what to do, it's a gift from a friend.
How can I get a phone number with my Palm (Verizon Treo 650)?
Thank you in advance.

The Palm Treo 650 has a SIM card; if not, you won't be able to make calls, all the information is on the SIM card.
